Birds: catch a still moment
A perched, preening, or resting bird holds long enough for a burst. Skip shots of a bird mid-flap unless you want the blur.
Reptiles: avoid glass glare
Photograph outside the enclosure if it's safe, or shoot at an angle to the glass so reflections don't wash out the animal.
